« on: October 28, 2008, 04:05:57 AM »
I was just wondering if anyone has had a cell die on them the original cell.Just im looking to buy the cell and just wondering if its an oil sucker like hammer and well all ebonites balls are. I have a twisted fury and love it. it dosent suck up hardly any oil. i know that the cell is a sanded cover so yes it will pick um some oil but just dont want to spend that kind of money and it dies.

I do not believe the Cell is as fast an oil sucker as the EBonite made balls, but being dull and being a ball made for oil, it will die faster than balls like the Twisted Fury Pearl which is polished/rough buffed and intended to be used on medium oil at best.

Dull balls MUST, without exception, and all balls should be cleaned after every use and before they are put in the bag.

All balls will lose performance over time, some in as few as 50 games. Duller ones sooner than polished ones.

I believe the Cell's coverstock was alos designed to be less susceptible to oil absorption. I have to hear of one losing noticeable performance but we will soon or later. I suppose most people are treating them right via good cleaning regimens and regualr oil rejuvenation procedures.

FYI soone or later your Twisted Fury will also lose performance. It's only a matter of time. Keep it clean and keep an eye on it. THen you can treat it as necessary.

One year and still going on my original Cell. Daily cleaning and weekly maintenance, along with polish, it has been good to me and reaction loss is minimal.

A buddy of mine has a cell that died..hadn't had the ball for very long and it had no hook at all, even for me (460+ rev rate) Though after a long day spent in the rejuver and a full re-drill the ball now has some motion, not nearly as strong as it was or any other cell, but it moves some.

Other than that I haven't heard any bad things about cell's dying, they all seem to be going strong..

I myself am trying to find one for sale to compliment the cell pearl..
