Polishing/drilling an Epic Battle??
« on: June 15, 2006, 03:23:09 PM »
I recently acquired another Epic Battle from a BR user, and I have a question or two.  My first Battle is drilled pin slightly above an to the right of ring finger with CG and MB stacked below.  I am wanting my second Battle to "compliment" this one, I want it to have more length/backend snap.  Battle #1 is very nice on a fresh shot, but once it starts to dry out a little, the ball starts to grab sooner and sooner.  If I am looking to get more length out of #2, should I drill roughly the same as #1 and just apply some polish (if so what kind?) or should I lay out #2 differently?  Thanks to all and sorry if this is confusing in any way.

Thanks for the reply and the info.  I'm hoping it works well, cuz I love the roll and hit of the Battle I currently have.

Also, I would like to know what kinf\d of drilling/layout would promote better length but still retain some nice backend movement.

Thanks,
Tyler

drilling an epic may accomplish that as well....  i am actually drilling a battle soon to take the heavy oil spot in my bag from my big deal and my epic fits right under that

The Epic fits wonderfully right under the Epic Battle. You'll like the Epic. It's a good ball.

I'm in the process of trading for an Epic right now.  How would the Epic and the Battle compare to each other (length, backend, overall board coverage, etc.) if they had the exact same specs and drillings?  Sorry for all the questions, but thank you all for the replies.  I am taking everyone's thoughts into consideration.

The Battle will roll earlier, and break anywhere from 2 to 5 board more, depending upon how you throw and the amount of oil on the lane. At least that's my experience. They are a good compliment to each other.
