The dry lane ball from RG is the Neptune.

Sorry to borrow your thread but I had a similiar but different follow-up question to ask.

Do you think the Neptune could also be the ball that fit the spot for a short pattern too?

I bowled fairly well on the longer sport patterns last year and struggled on the shorter ones like the Cheetah. I also recently bowled in a tournament with 36' of oil with anything outside 5 board was OOB (different than what I experienced with the Sports league). My first game was usually respectable but as we moved pairs, I started to struggle again.

By the numbers, I thought the Venus would be the one for short and light/dry but it actually seemed to start up sooner than my Mystic. The backend isn't as strong as the Mystic but total boards covered is pretty close.

This weekend, I tried adjusting the cover on the Venus to 4000 (by hand) and adding Bean's sauce hoping to see a longer look and still keep the smooth arc but the adjustment changed the backend reaction to make it roll similiar to my Mystic (but 3-4 boards weaker). Is there a different cover adjustment I could try on the Venus, or would getting the Neptune help fill out that spot in my arsenal?

Well I have a Pluto right now. Can I make any coverstock adjustments to that to make it work??
Also there is one house I bowl at there are times where they don't properly clean and strip the lanes, would the lower diff help with that too??

I do not have any experience with this ball but reading about it and watching the ball used in league (in box and polished), I would think that adjusting the cover on your Pluto would not help it for dry lanes but then again more information would be helpful.
- What is the drilling?
- What is your ball speed?
- Is the cover still Out of the Box and what reaction are you seeing with it now?

I would recommend going on ebay and picking up a Mercury. There are always a few of them, only 16 Lb, for a little over $30. It is a great ball and it is pretty much the same ball as the Neptune just with a little bit more girly of colors but I love it so much I don't care about the color. It is really versatile. I recently threw a 801 with it on broken down oil and threw 758 on the Cheetah with a 298.
Always be sincere, even when you don't mean it.

I have had great success with my Neptune.  Just Friday night I shot 170 pins over my series average with it on my last night of my winter league.

+1 on the Neptune.

I'm working on some new videos with the Neptune, Illusion, Mystic and Horizon Solid.

Why this wasnt released in the USA is what I would like to know !

I Emailed Roto and they said that there is no way to get this in the US

Pretty equal to a Power Groove or a Tornado !
