Is the Super Sonic RG's only ...

control ball?

Is it one at all? or is a drilling and/or surface modification needed to make it into one?

Dave,

I do not see the original SS as a control ball; the SS Particle and the Rush (both discontinued), yes. The Mercury does have much less flip to it than most of the other Sonics. I have not seen any nor tried any; so I can't say for sure. Have hardly seen any comments here on it either.

I should have prefaced my comment with this:
'While I recognize that almost any ball can be "forced" into becoming a control ball via drilling and/or surface modification, ...'

Well I have never seen the Rush as a control ball, and yes I own one.  And how can you dismiss the Silver Streak as not being a control ball?? In my opinion its the best control ball that RG has ever had.  But another great and often overlooked control piece is the Ressurection, but beware, in order to get one really for control you will need an '04 pour, the new covers cause a violent skid flip reaction.  And Roto Dave tell me when to find either the SS or the SS Particle, I Want em both.  Also what drills are you using, or planning to for these balls charlest because even the Super Sonic can turn into a hook monster with the right drilling.
