what kind of drilling would be best or is even possible with this ball,this is my first Rotogrip ball.

Looks like the pin is 7+".  Confirm the CG location and top weight, and if it's more than a 7" pin, flip the ball over, mark the spot 180* from the pin (13.5" away), use that spot to lay the ball out like you would normally use the pin.
