First Roto?

I want something with a smooth transition, not a flip, a good hard arc.  I would like to be able to use said ball on medium conditions and below as the track area dries out.  I'm a stroker with med-low revs and a bit of a speed dominance problem.  I've looked at the planet line, as they look to have a nice rolly core, and I like that.  The Venus in particular has caught my eye.  I want something versatile that I can couple with plastic and my Mean Machine as a little 3 ball arsenal.

I would say something like a Saturn.  Very smooth solid, and would go nicely into what you are looking for.

I am really digging the Mystic, but you say for medium and below...

I am really liking that Venus ball but I couldn't talk anyone I know into getting one.  I haven't seen one in action yet...

Given your said struggles with pro-anvilane, I'd consider a shiny SD-73 or Horizon Solid. I think the shiny Horizon Solid will stay "in play" longer, also consider the Venus, however, it is pretty angular.

When you say medium and below, how below do you mean?  Is the Mean Machine a heavy oil ball?  I am wondering if an appropriately drilled Horizon line ball would do the trick.

I guess the key is you want something to compliment the Mean Machine really well or something to go to since that is the ball you like.

Definitely.  I am using the Mystic as sort of a two-ball arsenal for medium conditions.  I always play on synthetic lanes also.  

With the Mystic as any example, I am sure the Horizon Solid and Pearl are also great pieces.  Also yes that SD-73 is one I wish I had but already filled that spot in the bag before I found out about it...

I would like a similar reaction to the Mean Machine, but for lower volumes of oil when the Meanie becomes too much.  For me, the Mean Machine has a VERY smooth change of direction, it doesn't even look like it's hooking, but just making a steady turn towards the pocket.  I want to be able to control the backend.

The Saturn is another ball I've been considering, but I'm confused a bit by the reviews I've read.  Some people call it a Medium to light oil ball, while others seem to like it on heavier volumes.

Ryan,

I would consider the Horizon Solid.  If you want it to be a step down from the MM, you might need to change the surface a bit.  I have the Horizon Solid and it for sure has a controlled backend.  Great ball at a great price.

I would say a Horizon Solid. I have two and they are something else.  For me smooth, controllable, and they hit like a ton of bricks. I have turned many heads with it over here in Europe.

I would worry about throwing the Neptune through the break point with my speed dominant style.  I sometimes tend to do that with reactive pearls, especially weaker ones.  I've very nearly sworn off reactive pearls altogether.

A Venus would be what you want. It should match your MM well don't let the price tag fool. The Venus will handle every thing you have just described.

I think that the Saturn would do very well it's a great ball at a super price I just love mine and its very easy to manage not flippy
