Carry issues with cell
« on: February 09, 2008, 05:45:56 AM »
I have thrown probably 20 shots with this ball and have left 15 7 pins(left handed) my n'sane LevRg dose not leave 7 pins at this house. The cell is 4x4 with 2 1/2" pin buffer, I can hit the pocket all day long from many lines but I can not carry the 7 pin (why).

I have tryed all this I'll leave solid 7's I'll ajust and then it will be a week 7. The cell is 4 board stronger then the n'sane looks good going down the lane just will not carry the 7 pin and I can't figure out why. Like you said usual a simple moving back on the approach will fix the problem but not for me and the cell.

The Cell handles more oil than the Nsane LevRG. The Cell, relative to the Nsnae is burning up, using too much energy in the midlane. Thus, the pinging of the 7 pin.

You need to save it for more oil, or sand it to 4000 grit. I tried the Cell at 4000 and it gets good lenght, with more length and more backend and the SAME GREAT hitting power.

Move your feet? move your bp, target? Bowl on a real oil pattern instead of a ths?

Everthing you said would be true if I was leaving weak 7's, but I'm leaving solid 7's not weak by any Imagination.

I had similar problems with the Cell (right handed) and I moved right a bit and picked up my ball speed and the carry was tremendous.  I thought that the Cell was going to be just a great down and in ball, then at league last week I could not find a shot, most couldn't, then I moved to 31 played the ball out over the 15 board at the arrows and it faded to aboout the 12 and came back and carried extremely well.  I was also throwing the T-Road solid that didn't make the turn as consistant as the Cell, but the cell surprised me.  I know with me sometimes if I'm not kicking out the 10 pin and moving doesn't help, I pick up my ball speed.  If that doesn't work, then I change balls.

That is not a black and white issue. How far do you think a solid hit (ringing) is from less than solid hit (weak)? Not very.

Still, if you've tried various angles and haven't suceeded, try a larger angle of rotation.

BTW are the two balls drilled the same?

I do not see any type of real carry issues, as long as it's in the hole, or light for me anyways it will carry.  If I get high, I leave 6's...but that's expected.

I need to find a surface to give it a little more pop on the back end because I have never had a ball carry as well as this one does.

I actually polished the ball with brunswick high gloss and it carries very well now, angle picked way up and it still handles plenty of oil. It is rare for me to polish and still be able to use it in oil, i think you should go that route or 4k no polish just my .01.

Well decided to polish it with storm reacta shine and shot games of 234, 224, 237 for 695. Only 3 7 pins liked the reaction and alot better carry then OOB finish, but I think I'll stick with the N'sane LevRG on this shot because of the carry alone. Even polished this ball covers more boards than the N'sane LevRG but dose not hit like it, but nothing dose.
