Not sure how related this is, but many sources tell me that Del and Carolyn Ballard are taking over a pro shop here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area... in a Brunswick house.  Maybe this is why he is now throwing Brunswick.

The guy who was drilling all of my stuff was at two Brunswick houses, and Brunswick did not renew his lease when it was up at the end of January.  From what I hear, Del Ballard is taking over the shop at Watauga and Wick's Pro Shop (from Don Carter West in Dallas) is taking over the one at Westcreek.

Again, this is just what I have heard, but I have heard it from SEVERAL people.

Peter Hernandez resigned from our staff 2 weeks ago.

The reason for Del no longer being with Roto Grip was in our February E-Newsletter.  If you didn't get it you can sign up for our fan club and start to get those monthly.  These kind of topics will be covered under current news.  If you want a copy of this newsletter you can email me at rogern@rotogrip.com.  I will be more than happy to forward it to you.  It will be available to view on our website shortly.

Del's priorities have changed since the birth of Alyssa, his daughter.  An opportunity arrose for him to take over a pro shop in Watauga, TX.  Del gets to still be involved in the sport he loves and be home all the time with his daughter.  He still has a great relationship with Roto Grip and will be used as a consultant for testing our products.  Del will be assisting Roto Grip in Japan with Hank Boomershine this spring for the STORM/ROTO GRIP FAIR.  With him no longer being under contract and running a pro shop Del can drill whatever equipment he chooses now.

Thanks,

Maybe it is a case of "If you can't lick em, then join them".

I wondered the same thing when I saw it on brunswick insiders
Peter Hernandez is no longer listed on the pro staff for rotogrip
Anyone know why these two left?

Del was a sales rep too, not just a player on staff
I would think that he got another paying position if he left that job. (not just a better equipment selection)

I saw Peter this weekend throwing a MoRich Mass Bias.  It puzzled me because he still had the Roto grip Patch on his shirt.  Iwas going to ask him.

Yeah Jeff, but he chose to use B stuff this week at the Open, rather than Roto stuff, with which he is obviously more familiar.  That really has to make you wonder what the hell is going on with all these pro's choosing to throw the Big B.

And Peter Hernandez resigned a staff position, about the same time Amleto resigned from Track.  Wow, that's almost unheard of, staffers resigning in mid-season.

Pretty sure Del is a free agent.  Those pictures are for the balls that Rick Benoit layed out for prominent players.  There were pictures for other players that are not on Big B staff, Tony Reyes, Mike Machuga, and Rudy Revs among others.

Del recently resigned his position with Roto Grip, he and Carolyn have opend a pro shop in Watauga, TX called Ballard's Bowling Solutions.  Del does not want to travel as much anymore with his beautiful baby girl and all.  They do have Roto Grip Staffer Tyler Jensen working for them, he moved down from Colorado!  If you are in the DFW area, check out Del, Carolyn and Tyler, they know a thing or three about bowling balls.
