RG insiders - HUSTLE
« on: June 24, 2021, 12:54:43 PM »
Looks like Roto Grip is back to work with several new balls rolling out in July.   The Pearl Hyped looks like a viable ball down from the UC2.   Looking at the new HUSTLE, I am a big fan of the INK, it appears the HUSTLE CAMO is its true replacement with same core, RG, Diff and a polished solid cover.  The HUSTLE Wine coloring really caught my eye.

Any staffers or insiders have any insight for what we should be seeing with the new equipment.

Hyped Hybrid and Pearl are both going to be great additions.

My PSO was part of the design process for the Hypeds. They targeted a couple older releases that had a lot of success and wanted to bring something similar but improved to the table. They should be really good as a step down from the UC2 and Zen

Everyone I know, staffers included LOVES the Zen! It's a winner for sure.

I have not thrown the UC2, but a lefty I know throws it and this thing is an absolute BEAST off the spot! Very, very quick twitch!

If the new Hustles can mirror any of these two balls with more push and controllability then...Yeah!  sounds like a monster arsenal!

Unless the coverstock formulas changed significantly (possible with Roto Grip) the new Hustle balls should be fairly identical to the old ones. The Camo being polished to the PBR's 3000 grit is the biggest difference, otherwise it's just coloration.

It will be interesting to see how much separation there is between the new Hyped balls and the Hustles. They use the same coverstocks while the core numbers and overall core shape are also fairly similar.

If the difference between VTC-20 and VTC is anywhere in the ballpark of the drop from the Nuke's eTrax P-20 cover down to the UC2's plain eTrax pearl, the new Hustles should be a fair bit weaker than the RAP and PBR.  I think they realized that the covers across the board were getting too beefy, the RAP and PBR are stronger than IQs for a significant amount less, so I'd expect the strength to be scaled back substantially.  We'll see of course, but I think the Camo should be very Ink-ish, where even polished, the PBR is just quite a bit different.
