So Is it actually as strong as the original. in between?

It is stronger both in the first 40 ft and in the backend. This ball sits above the original slightly. Its a hybrid of the a stronger version of the cytoplasm cover call the cytoplasm XL. The new cover uses some new process to make it stronger than the original.
