Rogue Cell and Strike Cell.......
« on: March 11, 2009, 03:40:25 AM »
Are they the same ball????? Both are hybrid coverstocks. The ONLY difference I can see is the Strike Cell coverstock is Cytoplasmic where the Rogue is Cytoplasmic XL. The numbers are very similar,if not identical.
Did the Strike Cell do so well that Roto Grip simply decided to do a US release and just changed the name?????
Don't get me wrong. I've watched the video and am impressed enough with the Rogue that I'm  torn between buying either that or a 2nd Dimension at Nationals.

The cytoplasmic XL is a new coverstock.  basically a more porous version of the regular cytoplasmic.  so no there not the same ball.

Jbuzz has it right. The Strike Cell is like the Mars of the Cell line. It goes right between the Cell and Cell Pearl. The Rogue Cell is stronger than the original Cell even though it is a hybrid.

All in the cover.  Strike is closer to Reactor formulation while Rogue is closer to Virtual formulation.  Rogue picks up more assertively and continues throughout and doesn't need big friction to make it's move.

I second Steve's assesment.

I have both and the Rogue is much more aggressive due to the cover being stronger.

I have both and I also have the Hybrid Cell and it's different from the Strike Cell as well! I start with the Rogue if there's enough oil, then go to the original Cell, then the Strike Cell, Cell Pearl, and last the Hybrid Cell! They all have the same continuation, they all just read the mids a little different and they all have the same great Cell hit! The Rogue is my favorite when the lanes allow me to use it, but the others are all fun to roll and watch destroy the pins!
