I have a question for all Roto Grip bowlers "in the know". I just started using Roto Grip this year and currently have the following equipment:
RSX drilled 4x 2 cg at 45 degrees
Oracle Vision 4 x 4
Retro Resurrection pin over ring finger cg stacked under ring finger
Ultra Sonic 6 x 5 1/2 for dry
My question is will the Retro handle most mediums or do I need the RS1 to complete this Arsenal?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm sure Jeff will chime in here but from were I sit it looks good as is. An RS1 would give you a different look as your resurrection but in the end I think you got it covered.

Would the RS1 give me any more length than the Retro polished?

Well its up to your really up to you because only you know what conditions you face regularly. Your arsenal looks pretty good, I think that you can do without the Rs-1 in your bag unless you see the need for a pearl in your bag, setup correctly the RS-1 can be really lengthy and flippy if that is a reaction that you desire. But if you are thinking of bowling in tourney's, especially sport shot tourneys, you might wanna fill that gap between your Ressurection and Ultra Sonic. I am sure that the Ressurection easily out hooks the Ultra, the Super Sonic isn't a bad move, it will give you a good deal of length with great backend. But I like I said before, its all up to you. If you don't see the need for adding a ball to your arsenal, don't. But do keep in mind that the RS-1 is a heck of a ball.

Roto Grip forever!!!! What else is there??

RS-1 for skid snap, or super sonic for smoother reaction over all on med lighter.
or even sonic boom. for nice clean read through heads and lots of backend.(but more prone to over under)

tloy,
I actually see a gap in your balls that you currently own.....somewhere between the vision and the resurrection. I am assuming that your current arsenal goes like this (hooking most/earliest to least/latest):
RSX (Drilled to flare early and roll)
Vision (Drilled to flare in the midlane/decent backend)
Retro (Drilled to flare little/late on the backend)
Ultra Sonic (Drilled not to flare/straighter on the backend)
Looking at your current lineup, I would say that you have a couple of different options:
Option #1 RS-1 drilled with the pin 5-5 1/2" from your axis with a 35-55 degree layout (35 for earlier roll/smoother backend 55 for later/sharper backend). This will produce a "scoot" through the fronts with later flare on the backend, with an overall arcy style backend. Good for later shifts or burnt heads and allowing you to move inside the oil line with decent recovery.
Option #2 RSX drilled similar to your resurrection. Granted this will be a similar hook shape as what your resurrection has, but you would be able to move in more and it would be a good "go to ball" when your resurrection isn’t working properly and your vision is too strong in the fronts.
I think either of these balls with these layouts would fit in between your vision and resurrection without having to take a giant step left or right. If you have any other questions let me know.

What you really need is to get a hold of a Black Silver Streak. That would compliment the other balls you have nicely. Good luck.

I'm just going to say it depends.....but Pepzi gave some nice suggestions....
I don't think you'd NEED it.....but it depends on what you see...
I don't see that much of a gap between the OV and the RR...I think it's more of a matter of getting a different LOOK on the lanes than the RR w/ the RS1...
