Review:
The Roto Grip Clone is not simply a substitute for the UFO Alert, but rather a beefier redesign. The Clone offers options to handle heavier volumes of oil, more options for various weights and a coverstock that generates a touch more length then your traditional solids. In addition, the Clone provides enough variation in the HP4 line to be part of any arsenal.

The coverstock of the Clone along with the updated core compared to my Exotic Gem allows for more length through the front part of the lane. Both of these balls have been a pleasant surprise regarding control.  The Clone is more angular and will allow you to open the lane up more for a big asym ball compared to the Exotic Gem.

The OOB finish worked well on two older HPL surfaces where the THS shot is oiled at 42' and 43' feet.  Initially, I thought I may need to surface with a 1K or 2K pad. For now, I'm leaving the surface as-is. In addition, I have an opportunity to attend some SPI demo days where I want evaluate the Clone in more detail.

As indicated above your Clone will work best on longer and higher volume patterns.  Do not hesitate to try out the Roto Grip Clone today!

The Roto Grip Clone has a low RG value of 2.51 a high differential of 0.056 and a high intermediate differential of 0.016.
Roto Grip came out with a brand new cover/core combination of the Optitrax cover and E.T.â„¢ Core (Equalizer Technology Core).  To bring this all together the Clone will give you something that you can get deep inside and blend out the wet/dry lane conditions.
The Optitrax cover which has been derived from years of testing and research to provide a more balanced oil displacement/absorption throughout the entire lane thus creating more consistency/predictability shot after shot in terms of skid distance, midlane traction, and response to friction down lane. Derived from the advancements of both the eTraxâ„¢ and eTraxâ„¢ PLUS solid materials the last couple years, we found this new direction of solid material that complements both of those without overlapping them.
The proven E.T.™ Core (Equalizer Technology Core) as seen in the UFO series, to be a complement all of our other asymmetrical cores. By simply changing the density of this single piece part, it not only lowered the RG values of the 16lbs – 14lbs options, it also, increased the Differential values in those parts as well, thus increasing the overall motion potential.
In comparison to the Roto Grip Gem, the Clone will be a cleaner option to be used on the fresh that will be a step down from the Gem but to be used in that heavy oil place in the bag especially on the older lane panels. In addition, the Clone will be a pliable and very versatile coverstock that will take kindly to surface adjustments.

Further, I liked how the Cloned ET core revs in the mid-lane for a strong Asymmetric Core without being lazy. The Optitrax Solid Coverstock worked OK for me with the Reacta Gloss box finish. But because of my low rev rate and down and in style, I needed more bite and a smoother transition that Reacta Gloss finish provided. So, I sanded the Optitrax Solid with 1500-grit Abralon, and the results were excellent. On a THS, I liked how the Optitrax skates in the front part of the lane and gently bites in the mid-lane, providing a smooth and predictable motion I could count on. Whether early on fresh conditions when I am playing straight up second arrow or later in game three when I need to open my angles, I could rely on the Optitrax Solid to deliver a clean and brisk transition off the pattern without worrying about the Clone jumping when it finds friction. So, if you are a down-and-in player like me, the Optitrax Solid will perform nicely for you with the correct surface adjustment to fit your game.

So, in conclusion, the Roto Grip Clone goes beyond where its predecessor left off and is an excellent new release. Although it may be "Cloned," I found the Clone to be the next generation that stands on its individual merit and is a powerful weapon to fit your arsenal.
