How many games do you have on the ball?  OOB, the ball is strong, but the more I use it the earlier it reads.  If you have less than 10 games, I'd keep it as is for another couple of sets.  If it doesn't start reading alittle earlier, then make the adjustment.

The stock cover is 500/4000 so once the 4000 goes thru the 500 will show up.  You should see alittle earlier read and slightly less backend reaction.

The Critical is strong and i think if you think it's going too long, the ball might be burning up. Have you tried a polished ball with it to see what it would do and compare the two?

, There was a thread awhile back 2000 + polish seemed to do the trick for a couple ballreviews members...I'm seriously thinking about doing it myself...kinda defeats the purpose of the ball tho...but that's my own opinion...I have too much to choose from...I like the different look it gives me...

Don't throw strikes, throw BOLTS!

I have two criticals, both of which have taken very well to surface changes. One is 70 x 5.5" x 60 @ 1k abralon that I use for heavy to med, and the other is 70 x 4 x 40 @ 2k + beans polish which is my current go to ball for pretty much anything.

I've never understood people buying multiples of the same ball until I rolled the CT. I have two and I want two more :)

Thanks for the responses. since i currently only have about 10 games on it , im not going to adjust the cover at this point. i want to see how it reacts as i put more games on it. as long as i don't throw it through the break point, it re-acts just fine. but i may adjust it to a lower grit, not sure just yet.
