Dark Star
« on: June 01, 2010, 11:03:04 AM »
How strong is this ball? My friend gave me one. Drilled 4 1/4" pin to PAP, pin over bridge. Thinking of taking it to 4000 abralon. How would this ball compare to my Inferno (4.5" pin to PAP, pin under) and my Mojave (5.5" pin to PAP, pin over)?

It really responds to friction. Very skid snap

Words of advise. Limiting your self to just one company is never smart. Get proven balls out on the market. Global, Storm inc, Ebonite international, er what ever it may be.

I agree.  This ball imo is truly stronger than what Storm/Roto actually intended.

YEah but when you it on some higher volume patterns it is really weak. WOuld not mind drilling another one 5 1/2 by 5 1/2

Really you should take it out and throw it before you make any changes. Many people have told me how strong the Mars is and still I just use mine as a spare ball. The only way to know is to take it out and throw it.

The Mars I have (78* 4.5" 68) works fine on house shots, but a straight arrow on the pba patterns I've been on so far-while fresh anyway.  The Mars shines when Cheetah, Chameleon and Viper are broken down.

really? i dont have that problem. my dark star rolls better on longer patterns then it does on short...and mine is polished. actually getting rid of it as all the tournaments are over and no use for such a strong ball
