Title: Roto Grip StarSearch Program
Post by: dmonroe814 on October 09, 2012, 01:46:43 PM
I went through the Star search program to get a general idea of what balls Roto Grip recommended.  I bought my first Roto Grip ball just before the fall leagues started.  Keep in mind that I have never had good luck with Pearl or asymentric, so I bought a pearl/asymentric Defiant Edge.  It seemed to match my game perfectly.  My yearbook was 214 and now I am averaging 231 and 240.  The lanes are med-heavy oil in this house.  With my 14.5 to 15 speed I am right on the cusp of slow-average speed player.  My revs are about 325.  My axis tilt is in between and my track is high, about 1 in from my thumb.  It recommende the Defiant edge for heavy oil, the Bandit for Med oil and the shooting star for light oil.   From what I have seen from others that have shooting stars, it is a very agressive ball.  Both the Defiant Edge and Bandit are pearl and the shooting star is solid sanded.  I am confused about the selection that star search made for me.  Can any Roto Grip staffers explain this one to me.
