I have come to grips that my snap lock just doesnt work for me. Seems like I cant get it to react or roll right at all. I can go to my code black or eternal cell and I get great roll/feel off my hand and looks great down lane. I have struggled with my snap lock for sometime now with so its time to move on.

Im looking for some suggestions of a ball down maybe rather than up.

My ball speed on the lane camera is 17-18, tweener/stroker with med or better revs.

Looking at your arsenal, you could use a Dare Devil, or even a Weeck-em to compliment what you have. The external cell is more of a benchmark type that is more of a mid rg/mis high dif, while the CB is a long and strong piece, so to me, you can use a benchmark piece where you can either start with, then ball up to the cb, when you need to chase the oil in, or you can add surface to your cell, use it as a benchmark, then and again, if it and your cb is too much, purchase a wreck-em, and there you have your 3 ball arsenal.

I was thinking the Dare Devil would be a good addition, but I never thought of the wreck em. I will take a look a look at that also.

Hmm, this sounds like the dilemma I was in with my S/L. Sometimes it worked pretty good, then not. So what did I do? After a few cover change experiments with my S/L that did make it work better, I decided to sell it and I bought the Dare Devil. This was a great decision! The DD works so much better for me than the S/L did. I would definitely look at the Dare Devil for sure. The Wreck-em may be a good choice as well, I do not have that ball so I can't tell you for sure, but the DD I do know is working for me!

The Wreck-em may be a good choice as well, I do not have that ball so I can't tell you for sure, but the DD I do know is working for me!

Yeah, I've tried cover changes also and nothing seems to help. I guess when a ball doesnt work for you, it just doesnt work.

are you looking for another pearl ball? the dare devil might be the right pearl, but could also be a lot of overlap with the code black.

I would look for something weaker, and probably a hybrid; so I second Billdozer and suggest a hy-road.

Or even weaker. The fact is that the balls he has almost all overlap.

Hyroad or weaker is my suggestion.

If looking for a ball down option, I have found the HyRoad is a good step down from the Code Black.

I agree. Makes a difference even for symetric's as well. I have two Hy Road's. Pin up and Pin down. About a two inch pin to PaP difference. Two totally different reactions. More different than I wanted or expected when I requested the layouts from my PSO. I remember reading a comprehensive article on the bowling this month website that said different layout's didn't change things all that much. I'm not a believer in that article anymore.

.....I may just need to plug and start "fresh" with my snap lock, but I am so frustrated with that ball....lol. I do belive that if I want to keep this ball I NEED to have it layed out different and give that a try. My EC and CB are drilled the same, having the pin next to my ring finger. While the SL is pin up over the middle finger.

Your Pin-PAP distance probably has more to do with the differences than the drilling. Not saying the drilling doesn't play a part, but 2-inch difference is kinda significant.

If you change where you drill, then by default you change your pin to PAP distance. Right?

Because my PaP will always be the same distance from the center of my span; or the same distance from where I drilled my holes. 5 1/2 over and 1/2 up. I threw both Hy Road's (pin up and pin down) back to back. Had to take two completely different lines to the pocket to strike and exit the pin deck at the 20 board. Isolated the PaP on both balls using a piece of tape and watching my shots go down the lane. it took me about 2 or 3 games to get it right. When I was done my PaP was the same on both balls.
