Well for those who have followed my troubles of the past year or so.
I believe I've settled on a complete arsenal for my local conditions!
Roto Grip Sonic X solid and a Rotogrip Sonic Boom! (Sorry to disappoint you INVERTED) Complete.
In our oil deprived area...this seems to be all I have needed lately!
Both were on the scrap heap. Now after adding a 9 inches from grip center weighthole to each they are about all I have been using.
Though I am not convinced they handle all conditions...it is surprising to me the ones that they have!
Both have gone from too even with very small hook....to skipping down thru the pavement(local area shot) and then turning and closing with more angle to handle the small swing shot our area seems to demand! Previously without the weighthole they would only work when I was on a blend that allowed one to go straight up the boards outside. Unfortunately in our area that is often pavement!
However with the weighthole one can go to the wet dry strategy of a swing from the oil...out to the dry and now get the recovery to carry! Typically I would use stronger flare balls to get that recovery but in our area that frequently didn't work due to the almost absense of volume in the center of the lanes! So the combination of a low flare ball and a weighthole that increases carry from inside..
Sweet...very sweet!
Last night in a decent set with the Solid...some of our fellow users out here said to me..."Hey...what's that ugly ball you are using?"! IT does rev up!
And HIT!
Since the weighthole...can you say..."Tomahawk chop". Goodbye 7 pin! Thank you RotoGrip...thank you TGod.

PS other nice(r) throwing lefties were using the ONE and scoring nicely but really flinging the speed! This ball with decent speed was covering the same area of the lane! High performance on the cheap!
