Looking to get a new look on the lanes for my game. Current comfort zone is 18-24 on the approach, 7-13 at the arrows 4-8 at the breakpoint. When my typical shot preference is not carrying and with extreme dry lanes I can swing my Lane 1 XXL, with light oil and fresher backends I can swing my Dynothane Thing Returns. With these balls and conditions I can confidently carry the corners.
However, with Medium/longer patterns if I need to swing to get to the pocket I don't have a ball to carry the corners.
Used a friends new RotoGrip RS-X, wow, it carrys the corners from 5-8 boards deeper inside and on Mediums than anything I own currently.
My question is:
As the RS-X is a mid-price ball, how is it expected to hold up over the long haul? I bowl three fall leagues and two summer leagues and sub in several other leagues, so lots of wear and tear on my equipment.
I do have a spinner to wet sand and polish to factory as needed and I clean the balls at least weekly.
Do any of the RotoGrip higher end balls have as good (or better) backend swing as the RS-X? And are these higher end balls designed to wear better/longer?
If one of each price point would be recommended to cover a greater range of oils while playing a swing shot, that would be fine also.
