RS-P Drilling Help
« on: November 18, 2005, 08:18:11 AM »
I recently drilled up an rsp and wasn't satisfied with the reaction I got.
It's drilled w/pin right of ring finger and cg approx. 1/2" right of stacked. Weight hole 1" below my pap (see profile).
Anyway, it goes longer than I had expected and seems to lope down the lane compared to my other roto's. I have tried a few cover changes and it still doesn't want to pick up in the mid lane like I would like. I had similar results with an rsx which I decided to part with. So now I'm contemplating re-drilling, but am worried that I might be a bad match with this particular core. I love my old silver streak though! But this core is inverted right?
Any suggestions would be helpful..
Thanks guys, -Sikxer

I have mine at 1000 abralon and a light coat of ebonite factory finish and it reads the mids very well, ball is expolsive on the backends.

What polish are you using???? Some clog pores and what reaction did you get with the 800 box finish, mine was huge early hooking and still a good backend.

I will trade you something if you dont like it in a week or so, so if you cant get it moving correctly i have some nice stuff to swap for it.

also props to roger for past layout help and the silver streak se is an awesone cheap ball.

I havn't polished it yet because I don't think it will help it read any earlier. It's definitly not burning up though.
I sent Roger a pm yesterday but maybe I'll call him anyway. Thanks

YES! Call Roger.......

The RS core is pretty different from the Streak core...inverted...MORE flare, and LOWER RG !

Like HamPster....the low RG combined w/ the high flare may not match up for you

I did speak with Roger (who was very nice and accomodating btw) he suggested first trying it polished and then possibly re-drilling. But without seeing me throw it.. it was hard for him to make more suggestions. I'm gonna try a couple of things tonight and maybe even video a few shots after my sport shot league.

Cool, report back.

Also...remember..you don't necessarily have to polish the ball!

You'd be amazed at what just a finer grit can do!!  Say.... 2000 abralon!
