The Epic is one of the baddest pieces that I have ever thrown or seen thrown for that matter. Even with the pin as high as I have it, this ball reads the lane sooo early. If there is light heads or anything short of a flood, FORGET about it. This ball is going to burn up before it hits 30 feet. But on the right condition(Heavy Oil) This ball is incredible. I have foudnt that it is very continous and rolls very heavy, so a few 9's in a set are inevitable. But other than the 9's the carry is GREAT.
The SSP, what can I say?? A pure classic. I bought this one used for $30 at my pro shop. I wasn't too found of the drill, but I didn't want to do a full plug so I was left with what you see. But I was VERY impressed with this ball. Its not like any other particle I have ever thrown, it give you great length and a hard arc that I would swear was a resin piece. I think that the biggest thing that I love about this ball is its ability to retain energy down the lane, even when its a little spotty, without burning up.
That brings me to the SSSE. One word CONTROL! I Wanted something that wasn't going to jump too hard on me but give me a nice read at the breakpoint. This drill is it. This drill is so stable, I went with a slightly negative pin, to delay the reaction just a tad. But man this ball is a true monster. Its so smooth and even and it hits like a truck. I have seen quite a few people stating that they are looking for a control piece, well this is it. Its reaction compliments my Ressurection beautifully, where my ressurection sits right under my SSSE, as long as there is some dry. But if its a little more oily the solid coverstock of the Retro is a better fit.
But again, I am VERY impressed with Roto Grip. I live by them, keep up the good work fellas. For everyone that doesn't know, there are pics of all my balls and layouts in my profile for your viewing pleasure.
