Just curious.....
How do these two compare in hit and length? I have an Ultra, which is extremely Long and Strong!
But kinda wondering if the RS1 is inherently skid/snappish?

Well Jesse....your post title says RS1 vs. Sonic Boom....no comparison there...
The RS1 ..at best....in my opinion would be hard-arc....not sure if you'd get a "snap" out of it.....of course......certain conditions may render one ....

Jesse,
Do you realize that these balls are different enough, mostly by reason of their cores, that they are not comparable balls? They are for different oil patterns AND amounts. The RS-1 not only hooks earlier and more but handles more oil than the SB. The SB is for lighter oil, hooks less and later.
In general, and if drilled the same, the Ultra should be slightly ealrier with slightly more overall hook than the Ultra. A friend uses the RS-1 and the Ultra and seems to find them a very good 1-2 combo. He used them all summer in a 14 week league and he's averaged about 220, with incredible carry power from the RS-1. His normal average is closer to 210.

Thanks Charlest and JeffRevs,
That was good info I could use. I've seen two or three people use the RS1, but I just couldn't get a good read on how much oil it could handle. A lot of that has to do with the operators using these pieces. Obviously, they didn't know what they were doing. I've used a Sonic Boom before, so I kinda knew what I was getting with that ball.
In looking at the cover of the RS1, I immediately assumed it was skid/snappish.The info you supplied leads me to get one as a next step above my Ultra. I like hard arcs, wherein skid/snap for me, is condition specific.
Thanks again.
