Illusion Drilling Question
« on: February 20, 2008, 04:49:55 AM »
Does thumb weight make a ball hook/roll earlier?
I just got an Illusion pro pin drilled pin 5 inches to pap above bridge, cg stacked up and right one inch of thumb hole like this

----P
-OO-
----
--CG
-O--

This ball has 3/4 pos. side weight and 3/4 thumb weight

Could I remove thumb weight with an X hole without removing much sideweight, and would this give me more length.

Yes, I believe you can and it will go a little longer.  I'm assuming that it's rolling earlier than you want it to.  This ball has the same coverstock that was used on the Epic Series, in other words, stong.  A balance hole is one way to go about it.  Another option would be to take the surface up to 4000 w/ polish to get a little more length.
