Saturn vs. Neptune
« on: September 17, 2007, 04:24:01 PM »
I wonder if anybody knows: "if" these 2 have the same drilling AND have the "same" surface finish( either change the Saturn to 1500 or change the Neptune to 800), how will they react?

Different cores (Orbiter for Saturn and Orbiter II for Neptune).

According to Ebonite: http://ebonite.com/techcenter/RandD_detail.php?PRKey=268

If you sand the Neptune, you should probably expect that the [sanded] pearl ball to have more backend, and be more angular at the breakpoint and to have more total boards of hook than the solid ball.

If you polish the Saturn, Ebonite suggests that a solid polished ball hooks more than a pearl polished ball, and the solid ball retained more energy in the backend of the lane and as a result was more aggressive overall.
