Epic coverstock issues?

For those of you who have and regularly use the Epic, have you noticed any coverstock performance issues like this guy, kegler78, said in his review?  Does it lose reaction early?  Hard to think that you would not want to clean it regularly.

"update on my purchase of the epic. have now put 30 games on this ball and have noticed that it will not turn and hit as when it was new. just recieved info that the matte covers on these new balls are not desirous of being cleaned on a regular basis unlike my other equipment. be advised if you have one of these new generation balls with this matte cover and it takes on a shine do not "clean" it as in the past - have your pro shop put the out of box cover back on it and do not use any cleaner unless you need to remove something from the surface (ball mark, dirt, smudge, etc.)"

That is a false statement and I'd be curious to hear where the "reviewer" got that information.  As always we suggest cleaning your bowling balls ever 3-9 games (3-6 games for particle and 6-9 games for reactive).

When bowling with a polished surface, after 15-30 games you should notice the surface slowly dulling up.  When you start to notice the reaction change on the lanes, the key is to polish it back up like you did the first time.  

When bowling a sanded surface (matte or machine sanded), after 15-30 games you should also notice the ball losing its dull finish and shining up a little bit.  Same thing, sand it back down to the finish you had the best results with.

Exactly what I thought.  The "review" just didn't sound right to me, and I have read nothing but good reports on the Epic, which will probably be my next purchase.  Just wanted to check in with the Roto experts.  Thanks.

I'm not a Roto Grip (or anything else) expert, but I have probably put at least a hundred or more games on my Epic in the last few months with nothing more than the most basic maintenance (wipe with a dry towel after each frame and then a quick cleaning when I get home).  The reaction I am getting now is exactly the same as when I first got the ball.  I've had balls die out on me before, some after just a few games, but not this one!  This ball is as dependable as anything I could ask for.  I'm the only one in my league that I know of who is using a Roto Grip but several people have been so impressed with my Epic that they are looking into RG equipmment for themselves.  I'm just a decent bowler (shot my season best 268 last week though!) but this ball can make a hack like me look good.  Now I've just got to get a Mercury for when the lanes dry out too much for my Epic
