Scuffing a Sonic Boom
« on: March 12, 2004, 12:22:56 AM »
I recently drilled a SB, pin and CG stacked about a 1/4 inch right of my ring finger, small weight hole. Not exactly sure of the specs. I have a high rev, high track release. I bowl on synthetics and thought this would be a good choice for when the lanes broke down a bit, I realize it's not a dry to light dry ball. It seems to just skid a bit too far for me and I lose carry. Has anyone taken a light pad to one of these with any positive results?? I keep all of my stuff shined, I don't see any heavy oil in my current center. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks..

Krumpy:

Here is my post in the ball review area.

We have also played with a slight scotch brite to get the ball to fit better between a Rush and Sonic X solid. Although scuffing pearl balls has in the past been taboo, give it a try in this one and you’ll be surprised how well it responds.

We're using this on Brunswick Pro-Anvilane (very hard) with Control-It oil (very slick).  Give it a try as I think you'll be happy with the results unless you have super sonic ball speed.
