SD-73 vs original Epic

I had to retire my Epic because the fingers cracked out 3 times and I was sick of paying for a new plug job every month.  It was the best ball I ever threw.  The layout was pin under ring (5" to PAP) with a 50 degree MB.  I was wondering how an SD with a similar layout would react in comparison.  I will replace the Epic with a new one, but wanted to see if the SD would fit above it in the meantime.  It would be used mainly first game of a set to open up the lane.  From what I've read here, I don't think I would be able to use it much longer than that.  The Epic was best for me at OOB.  I have a spinner so cover changes are not a problem.  Thanks for any feedback.  You guys were right on with the Horizon pearl.  That ball is too sweet.

The SD-73 Classic (OOB) will get going just a little earlier and be a bit more angular than the original Epic (because of its higher flare potential).  It will also cover more boards (most likely 4-6 more). OOB, the SD-73 is strong, to say the least -- so I don't see any reason why it would not be able to fit above your Epic.

It doesn't hurt that the SD-73 Classic is one amazing ball...and that it takes quite well to surface adjustments!

I've never had a SD-73 Classic, but I have 2 original Epics and wow are they pretty angular off the spot !

I would think that the SD-73 would handle more oil, but as far as being angular, I would have to go with the Epic.

I know that cover prep is impoetant in ball reaction, but I would think that a High mass Bias ball would have a tendency to be more angular then a high diff ball..?

Both balls are pretty angular...but in my experience, the Epic was not THAT angular...when both balls are at the same surface, and used on their proper oil patterns, etc., I have found that the SD-73 makes a SLIGHTLY more pronounced move off the spot.
