See a lot of Roto-Grip in your area?
« on: October 28, 2004, 11:04:49 PM »
The house I bowl in and maybe my whole area just don't seem to use Roto-Grip stuff.  In my league, one guy has a Sonic X and another guy has an old Bandit II.  I have my Apoc (thanks Jeff!!), Blue, Rush and Sonic X to get us up to 6 balls in the house.  I saw another guy with an Oracle and a Top Fuel at my driller yesterday, but that's really about it.  A sub on my team says he can't get the Roto stuff to hook -- this guy throws the ball about 25mph with a ton of revs using a down and in shot.  Don't know what he's tried, but it couldn't have been their higher end stuff.  Other than that, I have never heard anything but great comments about Roto-Grip.  Wonder why they haven't caught on here in York?

No one in my part of northcentral Mass throws Roto-Grip to my knowledge, although one of the guys that works in the main pro shop I go to tells me that someone has his old Sonic X Solid and bowls very well with it. I have plans to get a Sonic X Solid in the coming weeks, I need something to control the over/under, wet/dry madness that I combat in my Tuesday night league...

Roto-Grip is huge in the MD/DC/VA area.  I'd say right behind Brunswick and Track in the area.

DP... Would you really say that ROTO is huge in the MD area?  I'm not sure about that.  I know of you, me and a few others, including the Mr. Slater family.  I'm very happy with ROTO.  My entire arsenal is ROTOGRIP and I often get slack about that, especially from the Brunswick/Ebonite followers.  I'm a believer.

Actually in my area a few guys throw RG equipment.
I'm about the only one that throws 95% RG most of the time.
Roger and Hank have bent over backwards to answer any questions i've had.
Besides that I've never tried to shy away from trying different ball companies before they became popular.
free agency it is until i get a better offer.   LMAO

I saw another guy with an Oracle recently, but other than that, I have the only Roto's in my area that I know of.  I've shot a few honor scores with two of the Silver Streaks, but that didn't seem to influence anyone's buying decisions.

Strider, that's becuase the folks you know are aware of the immense talent that you possess.  They know you could toss an honor score with an AMF Three Dot.

Roto's I've seen a lot of in the area are the Sonic-X solids.  A couple originals and one or two Supers.  Haven't seen many Streaks.  There are a few Pure Fuels and it's been a while since I saw any of the older Fuels...  Saw a Rush being used by a lefty this Monday and it ended up being the last contribution to a team 1203 series.  They're here, just not in everyone's bag.
