Alright, so Ive been trolling the net lately and found some lets say uhm pretty positive reviews about the cell!

i was wondering


WHY is it such a hit?

Amazing cover, amazing core, amazing carry, and amazingly versatile are why I love my Cell.

Honestly, it's probably the best ball I've ever thrown.  The cover is strong enough to handle oil, but because of the amazingly continuous core, it doesn't burn up very easily when it finds friction.  It's perfect for me on PBA Experience league patterns for smoothing out the over/under reaction and the carry is phenomenal.  I quite literally left two 10 pins in eight games (spread out over two days) on the Scorpion pattern in the past week.  But I've also been able to use it on house shots and beat up 2nd shift tournament conditions just as well.  For the record, I drilled mine weak so I could use some surface to keep it consistent and smooth off the breakpoint.

Great ball....want to see how long the cover will last since that bad boy is like a sponge.Sucks in oil like no other I've ever had.Did I say it was a Great Ball!!

Mine actually doesn't absorb oil nearly as much as even my Special Agent.  (And certainly not like my Total NV where oil rings disappear almost completely within one minute!)  It's actually supposed to be a lower-absorption, longer-life cover according to the seminar with Hank Boomershine and Steve Kloempken posted on Youtube.  Mine has only done the usual very slight tamedown from out of the box (you know, only about two boards weaker, but much more predictable after about 5 or 6 games, the usual for a brand new ball of any kind).  Despite heavy use on varying amounts of oil and varying lane surfaces, it's still reacting the same and not losing any power.

I am getting close to 300 games on both of my Cell's and I have no trouble. I have done 2 hot water baths on each and clean them after every use. The hot water baths were not to restore the grip they were just as preventive maintenance. I heard the Cell coverstock absorbs something like 40% less oil than comparable balls. These balls seem to be able to last a very long time.

at the seminar back in january Chris Sands was talking about the cover of this ball acting like a snow tire with the tread like peaks on the cover it pushes alot of the oil away from the ball creating more friction on the lane and leading to less absorbsion and it taking longer for it to absorb. myself was sceptic but when we went out to the lanes and they had Jeff Carter demoing it, the gravity and the rapid i watched the ball come back and it took several minutes for the oil lines on the ball to start to absorb. I drilled one that evening and compared it to my attitude shift and the absorbsion rate was noticeable it took almost 3 times as long for the flare rings to start to disappear on the cell vs. the attitude. Mr.Sands also said that the peaks on the cover also led to the ball being so adjustment friendly. having seen what this ball polished sandes and so on i find this to be true while it didn't fit my game i think its one if not the best ball out right now
