Shatter vs. Dark Star
« on: October 01, 2012, 11:56:44 PM »
I know the Shatter hasn't been out long.

But I was wondering from those who have seen it or have thrown it... how did it compare to the Dark Star?

And I'm guessing the Shatter is the direct replacement to the Dark Star?

And how much weaker is the Scream than the Shatter???

Thanks!

Actually the Shatter is going to be stronger than the Dark Star.  It uses the same Neutron core that the Rising and Shooting Star uses.  Having thrown the Rising Star, the Shatter is very similar with the exception that it goes longer but works its magic in the back with a very pronounced shape.  It's more of a skid/flip piece and is comparable to the Tropical Heat line from Storm.

Now, if you are looking for a direct replacement for the Dark Star, the Scream with its 42L Pearl cover will probably be your best bet.  The Scream will be a few boards weaker than the Shatter and has a more mild backend.  On paper, this is more similar to the Dark Star.
