I know what you mean. So much of it depends on the condition and how lucky you are really. On an easy shot, you can shoot a 300 just by getting lucky and kicking out a couple 10 pins and having no 7 pins fall on swisher shots. When the shot gets a little tougher, though, it comes down more to shot making. My second 300 was on a night when I had very little room to miss, and had to really execute well. I never missed my target by more than a board or two the whole game, and I'd say 10 out of the 12 pitches were flush/high flush shots, and I had maybe two in the middle of the game that hit a little light but still in good swisher pocket. I was really proud of that game since it wasn't just about having easy lanes and creating a ton of area. I had to work hard and throw quality shots every single time for that 300! However, on a house shot, you just don't see that much. Most people I've seen shoot 300 in a regular league just have a night where their ball reaction is above average and they kick out a few extra corner pins off errant shots. I've had nights where I shot 279 or something even though I was all over the lanes and just throwing it like crap, but I had an easy line. Nothing to brag about on those games -- I just got lucky and pins fell.
