Nomad Daggar vs HyRoad

Just wondering if any of you have thrown or compared these two balls!
I wonder if there is a big difference. Thanks for your help.

I've owned both, put the same drilling on each one. Both balls carry great and are very versitile on a wide range of lane conditions. The Dagger for me had a little less midlane read and was snappier on the backend than the Hyroad. The Hyroad started reading/reacting to the lane 2-3 feet sooner while making more of a hard sweeping arc towards the pocket. Both balls read the lane great and were very predictable.

Thanks for the response shakenbake. I drilled up a Dagger pin down with a low hole and it does exactly what you said. The dagger is way more angular on the backend compared to the hyroad. I've compared both on synthetic and wood surface. Dagger is a great compliment.

Glad to help Stitch. Crazy how both hybrid covers and similar core design concepts could compliment one another so well. Hyroad for fresh, Dagger when carrydown starts, all day long.

Nice comparison, guys.

But to add a little bit, I recently bought a Frantic which is "supposed" to have the same coverstock as the Hy-Road, combo R2S, with what is supposed to be a slightly rollier core. Yet it seems that mine and most people's Frantics get more length, less midlane and a sharper backend from the Frantic. The Hy-Road is or seems to be famous for its midlane read while retaining the drive in the backend of a ball with a much sharper backend.

Wish I had bought the Hy-Road ....

To me it looks like the Frantic is the storm version of the Nomad Dagger. From a few individuals who have bought the Frantic, they say it's about 2 to 3 feet longer then the HyRoad but with a sharper backend. For the Storm line it fits pretty well between the HyRoad and Victory Road.

I just took mine down to P1000 grit and applied a dose of Snake Oil over that, hoping to get more midlane and less backend. I had initially drilled it with a P3/P3.5 weight hole hoping to add a little flare for the same purpose.

Charlest: I would would just sheen the cover down a little and it should smooth the backend down. Maybe even try to rough buff it with the brunswick solution.

Used it tonight and godo thing I took it down to P1000 + Snake Oil.
The lanes were extra dry outside, brutally so. I moved deeper, stood around 40, slid around 36 and kept the ball inside of 10 board for 2 games. Except for the rain and EVERYONE needing Easy Slide to slide (except the league secretary who stuck, fell and dislocated his shoulder), The Frantic worked well.

(Manager was told and someone said they'd protest to the AMF regional supervisor. He said, Go ahead and see how far you get! Nice, hunh?)

+1 on that charlest. Definitely makes a move on the back. When I drill it I thought it would be rollier and i did a pin under and i was shocked how much skip/flip the Frantic had. Love the ball.
