I just pick one of these up from a trade.  The ball is in new condition....  it is layed out with the pin above the middle finger and the mb in the strong position with original surface.  Approximately a 6 X 4.5 layout for me.  Since the span is almost exact, I'm going to try out this layout.  I'm expecting above average length and strong backend... what do you all think?

I'm also thinking about taking the surface down a little and using this for a control ball in heavier oil?

yeah.. compared to the average joe schmoe... I have above average "hand" but not overkill...  I think I am comfortably in the 350 rpms range...but can crank it up a litle more if necessary.

I didn't get a chance to throw the ball tonight... but I put new grips in the ball and cleaned up the surface with an 800 grit CAB.  I then put a coat of magic elixir on.. so it should play close to a 1000 grit wet sand.  I'm going to try and get out tomorrow night and throw it a little...assuming the PS isn't swamped!

threw the ball a few frames last night.  Very smooth reaction...plenty strong for a medium/medium-heavy condition shot on synthetics.  I think this in one of those balls that you could throw a big set with once you get lined up.  Very easy to read and adjust...  I have to give the ball a thumbs up.  Unfortunately, I recently just purchased a couple new balls and as a result, will likely be forced to get rid of this one ...  probably get to throw it in leage for a couple weeks though .
