I have a Silver Streak Pearl, drilled for a little bit of length and a nice backend reaction.  I'm looking for something that's straighter thru the heads (gets down the lane longer) and a similar, if not a teeny bit more backend reaction.  Been thinking about getting another streak pearl and drilling it longer and polishing it so as to obtain the desired reaction.  However, somebody pointed the Sonic Boom out to me and it seems like it would fit the bill as well, and be a little bit cheaper too.  Does the Sonic Boom fit the description of what I'm looking for?  Or have I been mislead?  Again, any info would be much appreciated.  Thanks much!

From what I know the Sonic Boom will go down the lane further but I cant imagine it having the same or more backend than the SSP. I have the SSP and the only ball in the Roto-Grip line that has more backend in my hands is the Apacolypse which I also have. That being said I wouldnt rule out drilling another SSP for more length. But if you will be using this ball at the ISU student center I would get something drilled to lay off on the backend.

Interesting. Congrats on your graduation. I think if you are trying to tackle friction in the heads and/or backends you should go with the Sonic X solid. Because for me pearls go sideways way too much if there is a lot of friction in the backend. I think a solid will even out the pattern and plus the Sonic X gets great length.
