The Outlaw must be the do everything ball
« on: October 10, 2011, 05:01:00 AM »
I went to Rotogrip's site and used the Star Search to look for a ball.  I put in my specs and The Outlaw was the recommended ball for dry lanes.  I re-entered my specs and went through all the lane conditions and kept getting the Outlaw as the recommended ball until I got to heavy oil which then I got the Theory.  The Theory and the Critical Theory were the alternate balls for every other condition.  I'm thinking I can't put much faith in the Star Search.    Love Rotogrip balls though.  Wanting to get the Rising Star and Shining Star.  I seem to get more use out of my Dark Star than I do from the Theory.

I believe Star Search to mainly be based off of Experience level and Average then the other factors that are listed.  My light oil ball was a Grenade, light-medium and medium Nomad Dagger and Medium-heavy and heavy Infinite Theory.

I agree with the Nomad Dagger as I loved the Nomad Solid for medium and could use for medium-heavy....one of the Theory balls for heavy.  Light-medium and light I'd opt for a Rising Star.  That would be my 3 ball arsenal for RG maybe add a Riot for medium-to heavy sport type conditions or a weaker drilled Theory for same.

My stats. used were advanced level, over 201, medium ball speed, medium revs, high axis rotation (this could be a larger determining factor I believe) and then went thru the various lane conditions.  On house type conditions I'd believe I'd be using the Nomad Dagger and Rising Star just about all the time.  No need for larger hooking equipment 90% of the time.

If other people try what I used, let me know what you find. I just tried ALL kinds of combinations and it always stuck with the Mutant Cell Pearl and Crown spare.
