Totally Defiant Question
« on: January 17, 2014, 06:09:04 PM »
Has anyone played with polishing the Totally Defiant?  Is there maybe a delay, but hook more polish?

Mine currently is sitting at 1000 abralon, no polish, around 50-60 games, and can only be used if the back ends are clear of carry down.  I've thought about taking the ball up to 4000 abralon trying to make the ball a dryer lane ball. also half considered trying to sell the ball, and get something else.  The conditions I see regularly are oily, with eventual carry down.

I regularly bath the ball a hot water soak / soap to keep the ball clean, but where I play, I think I need a particle pearl like an edge.

I had a Totally, and IMO it was doing the same thing, no back end. I was lucky enough to get a Soul in its place when it had a run in with a ball return. I have the Soul pin up with polish, great length with great back end. This might be the way to go. It was for me. If you are still going to experiment how about 500 then add polish.

Mine oob was skid-skid- and more skid. Took the factory polish off with 4k abralon pad and now it reads hooks and sets like it should. But still is a medium maybe med/heavy oil ball at best and it does need a hook spot downlane with minimal carrydown.

Yup! This sounds like the ball for me! Skid-skid- skid is exactly what I need, I am rev dominant, with slow speed. Getting the ball to turn over and finish has never been a problem.

Just wondering how this ball would do if finished like the Critical Theory? 500/4000. I have not seen any of these being thrown in my area either. Good Luck.
