I can't say enough good about the Totally Defiant.  I really enjoyed the Defiant Edge when it was released but found that it was still a pinch early and smooth when I needed a little more backend reaction.  The totally defiant accomplishes this with ease. Rotogrip's decision to not use the "MicroBite" technology in the coverstock helped achieve this but certainly does not eliminate hitting power or hook potential.  The Totally Defiant pushes through the fronts easily even when they start to break down and carries energy toward the back part of the lane and through the pins.  The comparison you see in the video shows that the Totally Defiant pushes my feet and target a bit further inside than the Defiant Edge and without a doubt a sharper backup motion.  There is no doubt the hitting power is there and with the excess backend motion this ball will throw pins around the deck.  Great job Roto!!!!!

Just curious if you could give some feedback on the 45 x 4 x 50 layout.   Were you looking for an earlier and more controlled read since this ball already has plenty of backend?

Agreed this ball is great.  If you have a heavy carrydown situation, be warned this ball rides on oil very well, and may not finish like expected, I leave a lot of weak 10s and 2s, but on fresh, or even frying lanes with little carry down,  FANTASTIC!

My totally defiant earned a whole new side of respect out of me last night.  there was what seemed to be a little bit of a dried up patch just left of where I was trying to play the ball.  If and when I tugged the ball, the TD seemed to burn up some of it's energy right there, go into a baby crossover type of shot, and weakly finish the lane and carry.  When I put the ball out to where I wanted, it slid out and came crashing back, carrying, just like intended.   Started the night with a Defiant, way to over under with the way that ball is drilled.  Switched, in the 10th frame of game one to the Totally, turkey in the 10th to save a 181, then proceed to get on fire, 19 of 23 opportunities to strike in 2 and 3, for a 256 and 277 to save 700!  Man I LOVE this ball.

Getting ready to throw mine for the first time tonight in league.  Can't wait.

My take from what I have read is stay in the oil in the heads and bump it off the dry in the backends.  And put it away if carrydown becomes an issue.  Sound about right?

Don't be afraid to play around though, see if you can't find the carry spot.  just watch the reaction and you should be good.

OK.  I am officially a beleiver in the Totally Defiant after breaking mine out for the first time last night in league play.     It is a great ball as others have said that gets through the heads VERY clean with and has a stronger and more continuous move than I have seen in a while.   I dilled drilled mine at a 65 x 5 x 35 to accentuate the back end mildly and I was not disapointed.  Pin carry was great.

As mentioned by previous posters, it needs a nice dry spot in the backends to make its move and it got a little squirty a few times when transition was a factor.   It was definitely fun when I put a little extra hand in my shot and watched the the strong and continuous move through the pocket.

I won't use it all the time, but, under the right conditions, it is a blast.
