Has any staffers thrown the Hyper Cell yet ...
« on: January 02, 2014, 08:29:19 AM »
Reason for asking is that I was looking at the Brunswick Mastermind but willing to wait for the Hyper Cell, loved of the original Cells. Do you think the Hyper will have similar reactions as the Mastermind. Patterns have been on the heavier on a few of my leagues and am contemplating either one.

**I'm not on anyone's staff**I have seen both, and have tested the Hyper Cell. The Mastermind is good. Fairly clean through the heads, @ OOB surface, and has a great motion. Reads the lane well and can handle oil. The Hyper Cell, IMO, is stronger. Especially off the spot. We tested the Hyper Cell on a 43ft 23.75mL THS, 40ft 26.25mL challenge pattern and a 47ft 23.2mL challenge pattern. It was usable on all 3 patterns and allowed a lot of miss room to the outside on all 3 patterns. Once they broke down, a move to the inside was made, and the Hyper Cell didn't quit. As long as you have some head oil, it was great. If you liked the Original Cells, I think it's a good call. But honestly the Mastermind is a good ball too. Brunswick has been making some great stuff.

I'm not a staffer and have not thrown the Hyper Cell, but the release is just a few days away.  If you liked the original Cell series I would think you would like the Hyper Cell as well.

Comparing to the Mastermind, I think the Hyper Cell is going to be a much more smooth even arcing motion while the Mastermind seems to be more angular (according to the manufacturer websites).
