Utah arsenal question
« on: May 09, 2013, 12:37:41 PM »
I recently got a great deal on three balls- a Disturbed,
a Berserk, and a Wrecker.

Right now I have a Mutant cell pearl, and Storm Crossroad already in the bag.

My main concern is will the Berserk and Wrecker overlap any? I am a cranker,
420-440 rev rate, 17mph speed(monitor), with 13* of tilt and 60-70* axis rotation.
So for those who have both the Berserk and Wrecker, how much of a gap is between them?

If anything, the Crossroad & Berserk will overlap.

I missed out on the Cell series as I was locked in with another couple of companies in that time frame, I am very impressed with the MCP on a THS. There are times where I need something under the MCP yet more than the Crossroad, and I think the Disturbed can fit there.

I think it's a pretty good arsenal.  The Berserk and CrossRoad will be the closest.  However the Berserk will handle some heavier volume compared to the CrossRoad.  You could just adjust layouts to account for it and easily be able to use all 4 on most conditions you'd face.

Thanks for the replies guys, I am pretty stoked to be back throwing Storm/Roto again. I knew I made the right choice when I bowl 780 off the press with the Crossroad a few weeks ago lol.

I have the Crossroad at 4 x 3 with a 2" pin buffer, and 1500 polished. It's the first ball out of my bag right now, but one house in particular puts out a ton of volume so typically I go with the MCP there. The MCP is 5x5 with a 3" pin buffer and its at 4000 no polish.

I haven't done tournaments recently, but I feel the Crossroad will be a great tournament ball, just because its so smooth and continuous.

The Disturbed is one of the best balls to come out of Utah in a while.  I've seen enough to where I'm getting my own.

Given their oob surfaces, it could be a great 1-2, especially if the berserk begins to check too early.

I am thisclose to putting together a Utah arsenal. I was thinking Sync, Soul, Fire Road, Disturbed, Super Natural, Lights Out, Tropical Breeze, Mix.

I think that would be a complete arsenal. Any thoughts?

Sounds pretty good, but I wonder how close the Sync would be to the Soul, my buddy has the Soul and he said he needs a ton of oil up front to use it more than one game.

I tell ya, the more I see the Sync the more I like it. From what I have seen it is clean even for an upper end ball. But if I added to what I already have, I would definitely go with a Lucid, man does that ball look good every time I see it thrown!

The Sync reminds me of the SRC core in the Bank series. Numbers are very close. I love the SRC core.

I may just choose to keep it all Storm, and go Sync, Fire Road, Crossroad with some surface, Lights Out, Super Natural, Tropical Breeze and the Mix Urethane. Freakin Frantic looks pretty good too.

Of course, I need to stop throwing it like crap. That would help too. :P

Lol I know what you mean! Unless your dead set on the Soul I'd wait and see what the Sync pearl looks like, I have a hunch it will be a pretty sweet ball.
