I know you can't use them on the national tour, but what about Regionals?

Yes you can use roto in regional events and the TQR's but once through the TQR they can't be used.

Because Roto didn't want to pay the registration fees.

TAKE THE NAME "PRO" OFF OF YOUR SHOP AND REPLACE IT WITH "HOBBY"

Okay then...I'll ask the question...is the SD-73 Classic legal at all in PBA qualifying and regional tournaments? I assume it is. And this is just a theoritical question as I don't have one, nor is there any possibility of me bowling in a PBA event. If they let me in then bowling would be in real trouble!

Yes, for the TQR (or PTQ), regional, and senior tour.  If you make the round of 64 at a normal tour stop, you can't use it.  If your final rounds are televised, you're out of luck.

From the website:
quote:
Grassroots: Unlimited use of cleared bowling balls, apparel and accessories in PBA Tour Qualifying Rounds*, PBA Regional and Senior Tour competition (excluding any televised competition).

* Grassroots items not permitted during U.S. Open and World Championship competition or on the Denny's PBA Tour.

I believe the "excluding any televised competition" is intended to cover the case that maybe the RPC or a senior event happens to be televised, not just the normal Sunday telecasts.
