Sorry for the long post I just started typing and it ended up very long.
First a lil background on the ball. Bought in the Middle of November it has probably around 50-60 games on it, Cleaned every 6-9 games with Storm Reacta-Clean. Drilled 4 x 4, also slight polish on the ball.
So about 2 weeks ago I noticed that I seemed to not be getting the same reaction with my one Epic that I did when I first had it drilled up. When I first got it it had a very angular back end and lately it just does not seem to have that same strong flip. So I figured it was just me being inconsistent, but last Friday at league I just could not get the ball to the pocket and I was just having problems, again i just figured it was me. So in the 8th frame of the 3rd game I switched to my other Epic which I bought used with like 5 games on it and I had only thrown it maybe 2-3 games (Drilling on this one is pretty much the same as the other one) so I struck out which was nice but what really got me was that the ball was very angular just like the other one used to be.
So I had no time to practice this week to see if it really was me or the ball(busy work week) So yesterday I was really starting to think that maybe something was wrong with the ball, so I figured I would give it a warm water bath like others here on ballreviews have recommended...I used hot tap water with dish detergent soaked for 20-25 minutes, rinsed with clean water...and then repeated the process with fresh water.
So I get to league last night and pull out my freshly bathed Epic. Throw a few shots with it and the same thing it just won't move like it used to. SO I go into the pro shop and talk to my driller (Dennis Realle if you live around South Jersey you probably know him) he said throw a new coat of polish on there and see if that helps if not come back and see him and he will see what he can do( so I did polish it). So I decided to get out my spare Epic and I used that. Well that ball was like night and day, very strong angular back end. After the first 2 games I shot 406 (pretty good for me). 3rd game I was having issues with getting the ball out to my mark so I figured I was having a bad game and was not gonna shoot the 194 I needed for a 600 so why not try out the freshly cleaned and polished Epic. Well same thing ball just does not want to move.
So the pro-shop was closed by now since it was way after 11pm but today I am gonna stop by there after work and see what he can do for me.
So after this long post that just seemed to keep growing, has anyone else had any issues like this with their Epic? If so what did you do to try to fix it? I have 2 other RG balls and neither of them seemed to do anything like this. So if anyone can help please do I am just at a loss for ideas right now.
