Excellent JK!!!! Then I think I am going to LOVE this ball....every time someone says a ball sucks I tear crap up with it....yes! (j/k)

Time will tell.....Lord knows I don''t need a heavy oiler but if I can make it fit into the aggressive medium lane ball then I may just take the plunge....would be my first RotoGrip in quite some time....last ones I had that I really liked was the Silver Streak Solid and the Top Fuel.

I'm going to drive up to Akron, OH on Thursday for the seminar and stick around and hopefully get to test it out. Just on looks and specs alone, it shows a ton of promise.

Our home center is just not getting any volume to hold up so it would be a tournament/sport pattern ball for me. I may flip some holes in a shined one to see if I can chase the oil line in with it during league play.

It will be nice if our center can figure how to make the shot hold up longer than 15 minutes of practice. When the original Cell came out, we had a tough time selling them as they just hooked and stopped for many of the styles that frequent the leagues at our place. I have a feeling the Mutant will be the same. We educate as many as we can that it is not against the rules to apply shine to the ball after they buy it, but some object the minute they hear a ball is a "big" hooker. I've seen "big hookers" before and they aint pretty!! LOL!!

It does look very good(In terms of roll, not color scheme lol).  If I can't get along with the NIB twisted fury I picked up for 20$ , then this is what I'll be looking at.

You tear up pieces of crap? That's gross LOL

This ball is pretty aggressive from what I have seen out of it so far. It is definitely the most aggressive Cell out of the four. Leave it at box finish when you throw it, I hit mine with 4000 right out of the box and it created a little over under on the mega cliff house shots I bowl on for league. I will be able to give a better full review in a couple weeks after bowling on some patterns and regionals.

I do know this... it rolled awesome lofting the cap after league last Wednesday. It reminds me of a Virtual Gravity in that the less you hit it, and the more you let it get into its own natural roll, the better it will react.

The layout I used was 5.5 x 5 with the Mass Bias in the medium strong postion about 2 inches out from my thumb, the pin ended up above my middle finger. I plan on drilling another tomorrow night with the pin low.

Will post back soon...

Someone posted a vid of it on youtube & posted the link here in the "bowling videos" thread.  Looks pretty aggressive.  It out hooked the Rogue on the same lane.  Looks like at Oob will be for the very fresh &/or heavy & heavier sport shots, then have to put away.  But that's most of the high end solids...  He shows his layout in the beginning of the vid.

Exactly what I saw.  I have my Rogue and my Virtual Gravity drilled almost identical and they roll just about the same on the lane in my hands.  Which would lead me to believe the Mutant is 4 boards stronger than the VG which means it has a LOT of potential.  I'd really like to get a Mutant soon.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got to throw this ball today at the seminar....HOLY CRAPOLI!!!!!! This ball is a beast.

They had the Nomads, Mutant Cell, Reign, Virtual Energy and a new test ball from Storm sitting on the racks.

The Mutant cell drilled basically pin up with cg and mass bias stacked straight down outhooked everything else by a good 8-10 boards.

I was able to use teh Nomad solid and play a decent swing (stand 27 play 15 to 8ish) and cream the rack.

The polished Mutant needed me to slide left gutter and play 4th arrow to the 5 board to get in the hole.

This ball is an absolute monster.....

Ive seen a few players over in oz with them. Straight guys are opening up the lane and a couple of board coverers are getting control at the spot with box surface, in my books it belts the crap out of the Virtual gravity. I dunno how they are making these Cells better but they are getting better

mikern....all I can tell you (and the reason it's all I can tell you is that it is because it's all that I know)...

Test ball was black with a big X on one side and a big O on the other.

Pin was orange, pin and mass bias markings were also orange.

Ball is a solid coverstock that reacted like a resin ball.

If I was to make a guess I would have to say the mass bias marking is a fake out and that the ball is a solid version of the Reign.

The ball had flare in the same ballpark of the Reign and had a motion very similar to the Reign through the heads as well.

The ball reacted a lot like the old Trauma ER for me....quite a bit like the original Dimension from the new stuff.

Again that's all I know....

Again this is pure speculation.....
