New layout for Mars #2
« on: August 31, 2010, 12:24:09 AM »
I just recently purchased a used Mars for cheap. This is my second Mars and I bought it with the intent on adjusting the ball to go longer. My Friday night league has a very light amount of oil so my 1st Mars starts to hook quite a bit by 2nd game.

Both Mars are currently at the out of box condition. I just need to take Mars #2 in to the shop for plug and redrill.

The pin location is different on both balls.
My current Mars has a 3" pin and it is located directly above my ring finger.

Mars #2 has a 2.75" pin and the pin is located above the bridge of the fingers.

* If I keep the pin in this location, what type of reaction can I expect?

I am trying to gage which ball I should adjust the surface on. I plan on going with maybe 2000 grit / polished to help play more in my comfort zone. (10-5)

I am a medium speed/medium rev stroker.
My PAP is 4 3/4 out X 1/4 up.

I''m sure if I plan this right I will be able to get the ball just a tad bit more down lane with out struggle or making drastic moves all night.

Ultimately I am going to consult my driller in the next day or too but I love second opinions.

Thanks guys.
