eternal cell vs. hyper cell skid
« on: December 10, 2015, 11:09:29 PM »
Looking to upgrade my Roto grip arsenal. I love the new pieces that came out, but had a couple of questions. How similar are the eternal cell and the hyper cell skid in reaction. I know et is a solid polished and hcs is a pearl polished. Right now my arsenal includes hyper cell, disturbed, and a wrecker. I would like to know what would fit and what would be a good ball to replace the disturbed (a lot of games). I bowl on multiple patterns, some weeks light to medium and some weeks medium to heavy. Our league operator likes to challenge us week to week. I have an average ball speed and rev rate. I like to play the lanes straight up and in, however can open it up if need be. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thanks.

I would look at a Haywire to replace your Disturbed. The difference is the cover is the same on the Hyper Cell, so IMO it will be stronger, depending on your layout. Since you have the Hyper Cell, I would suggest you take a look at the Storm Lock. I like to play a straighter shot as well. Since I got the Lock, it has way more play than my Haywire. It is so smooth and has a consistent roll, but it doesn't overreact, so its very controllable. It also take cover adjustments excellent. I put polish on mine and the reaction is just perfect. The Skid will be a skid flip reaction, where as the Eternal will be more direct. If you are looking under your Wrecker, I would look at the Hectic or a Uproar.

Thanks guys.

One last question would the critical fit in any where or it's reaction will be to close to the disturbed and the hyper cell.

I think it would depend on the layout and cover adjustment. The Critical has a stronger core than the Disturbed. The Hyper is better suited for heavier oil or it burns up, where the Critical would allow you more options.
