golfing4, Thanks for the link.... But your opinion of the guy??? For covering an ugly scar which gave him the scare of his life??? Seriously? No thanks man.  You have no clue.

I''m not a "tatoo guy" either, but this is one instance where it is not a problem with me.... & I might have done the same thing only using a Storm Logo or Black Hawks Indian Head or something.

I think it's just a cool tattoo.

Most people wouldn't even know it was bowling related...and that's including those in the industry. If he got one that literally said a brand name, then that would be a lot more questionable.

I understand the gesture, but given that it was skin cancer, isn't placing the tattoo in the same exact location where the cancer had been recently excised kind of dangerous?

Being that skin cancer has a nasty habit or re-appearing, ink placed on the diseased area may cause a flareup of the nasty stuff--I hope not for his sake.

I've crossed paths with Jacob in tournaments and have talked to him some and used to bowl league with his uncle back in the 90's.

Jacob's a stand up guy. For you to imply otherwise is just plain wrong. Keep your judgmental attitude to yourself.

If your not a bowler you wouldn't know what it was.(many bowlers wouldn't know)

So 95% of the population would think it is a neat start design.

That is an awesome tattoo, I was actually thinking of getting that tattoo also. If you show it to someone who doesn't bowl it just looks like a cool star.

I think he was thinking that he is a grown man in a free country and can tattoo what every he wants where ever he wants. It clearly has personal meaning to him, so I'm not sure where you are finding a problem here. But if you are still against it, I have good news for you, its not on your skin and in all likelihood you will never have to meet him or see the tattoo again.
