Need Help With Arsenal
« on: November 26, 2013, 02:21:28 AM »
Hey guys,

First off I'd like to say I'm new here so I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a college student that is getting serious again about bowling. I bowled the last two years of high school off, and the two summers during my first two years of college. I took the next few years off because I got burned out from it. I have gotten back into it this fall and working on moving up in tournaments. Since most of my equipment was so outdated I am working on rebuilding my arsenal.

My Stats are:
Left-handed
PAP: 5 and 11/16" up by 11/16" left
Rev Rate: 275, but is increasing while I work on hand position changes
Speed: 16.5-17
Track: High
Axis Tilt: Low
Axis Rotation: Up the Back

Current Arsenal:
Lane Masters Big Bang: 60 x 4 x 30 @1000
Storm IQ Tour Solid: 65 x 4.5 x 35 @4000
Hammer Black Widow Bite: 75 x 5.5 x 55 @3000
Roto Grip Wrecker: 75 x 5.25 x 70 @1500 polished

What I am looking for is something to go to when the IQ won't make the turn and I need to move in. The Bite works sometimes, but other times it doesn't make a strong enough move back for me. The Wrecker can move back to the pocket from the inside line, but since we drilled it so weak it doesn't really make a strong enough move to carry that well. It works much better on shorter patterns. Eventually I'd like to have two balls that I can step down from the IQ, a symmetric pearl that I can stay in the same place on the lane with and a ball that can handle the inside line and make it back well for me. Which one do you think would be the better choice for me to do right now, and what suggestions would you make for it? I was thinking something like a pin up Wrecker now and then eventually down the road something like a Deranged. But I am open to all your suggestions. These are being used on sport patterns mostly.

Thanks for all the help!
Jake
