Anyone here really liked the Deranged? How about changing the surface on it? Thinking about getting one and putting the surface 500/polish. I want an early layout (pin down and I am also considering a p4 weight hole any thoughts? How would this compare to the Marvel Pearl?

I kept my Deranged at 500 plus polish, and I loved it. The strong under-grit allowed the ball to pick up the midlane very well, and the backend was smooth, strong, and continuous. As for comparison to the Marvel Pearl, I think you'd find some similarities with this coverstock prep. I still think the Marvel Pearl grabs the midlane even harder, but I think it lays off more on the back end than the Deranged.
