Where to slot the Rogue Cell in my arsenal
« on: June 05, 2012, 06:24:27 PM »
I couldn't pass this deal up from a teammate.  I was able to get a virtually new Rogue Cell (less than 15 games, 4 inch pin, excellent condition) and will have it on Monday.  Before I ask the question, here are my stats: 19-22mph, 380-430 revs, throw right, tweener style.

Now, I know the Rogue Cell is a strong hybrid.  And the RG hybrids always have matched up with me well.  The big question is where to slot it with my arsenal.  The arsenal in order from strongest to weakest is:

1) Defiant
2) 919C
3) Hy-Road
4) Vital Energy
5) 505T
6) Brick

My initial feeling was to slot it as a step down from the Defiant because the Rogue Cell has a strong cover, even more so than the Hy-Road.  The other option was to slot it between the 919C and Vital Energy with a weaker layout and then move the Hy-Road down to use on more true medium patterns, above the 505T.  Any feedback is appreciated.

It appears you already have enough stronger balls, you must bowl on puddles.

The houses I bowl at go with 41 and 43ft patterns that have heavy volume.  The first 1 to 1-1/2 games, strong equipment is a must.  Once the patterns start to break down, it opens up some, but not by much.  Most people in those 2 houses all use stronger equipment such as the Nano, 916AT, Critical Theory, Invasion, Black Widow, etc.

The place that I am bowling at in a summer league is nice for a change because that house went with a 39ft pattern and all I ever need to use there is my Vital Energy, 505T, and the Brick.  I'm enjoying that because that pattern allows me to open up the lane much more so than I would during the regular fall season.

It will be close to the 919C so layout and surface prep. is very important.  I agree a Rogue Cell is a very good ball to go to as a ball down from a Defiant.

Thanks.  I was thinking that also and figured that it could give me a ball to start leagues with sometimes versus almost always going with the Defiant.
