which hustle should i get
« on: July 29, 2017, 01:31:45 PM »
any1 have any experience with any of the hustles? looking for a ball i can use on the burn, and i think i decided on a hustle, but there's 4 i can get a hold of. the POW and the RIG(discontinued but i can still get) i swear have the same coverstock? i guess the say is the hybrid, and the INK is the solid. but any1 have experience to be able to compare the balls?my problem with pearls is that they seem to jump off the end of the pattern, or when they see friction. really, i'd be looking at the POW or INK

Yeah I know because I'd like to get another one myself.  I really can't think of anything right now that is a true good light oil ball until you get into urethane.  The Ride was king for me, then the Hectic, but those are gone and replaced with substitutes that are way too aggressive.

kinda blows, i help my buddy in his pro shop so i get balls at cost. and the hectic is discontinued. on ebay they sell for like 140 NIB...and to me that's just outrageous, thats like a HP ball. is there any ball from any company that would be good for burn( i know it strays away from original post, but no sense in making another post imo). lot of equipment i see, is too strong off the friction, and not good for the burn :(

For another company you might want to look into the Fanatic BTU Pearl from Brunswick. Haven't seen it in person yet or have heard a ton about it but it SEEMS like a good bet for the burn. Just have to find out more about how that coverstock actually responds.

People are saying the Cherry Vibe and Blue Vibe are pretty decent for the burn despite their core numbers. I usually wouldn't look twice at something with a RG of 2.51 and differential of 0.042 differential for dry, but real world performance > perceived performance based on numbers.

Then there's the bottom-line pieces like the Rhino and Tundra. I've heard good things for both. The Alley Cat might be good too but there's been nothing, good or bad, written or said that I've read or heard. I think the Turbo/R and Nitrous are slightly stronger than the rest of this group, although the former is in the same boat as the Alley Cat.

Recommending a ball for the burn is hard because I don't really expect anything to not make a hard move when it hits friction these days. Those that don't are few and very far in between. So if that's what you're looking for it might be better to pay more online for something known to react that way for most people. It's still a crappy situation though.

from my experience bottom line pieces tend to be too flippy/too angular especially on the burn. i do own urethane but seems over/under for me. i'll be right, it'll read early(like urethane is supposed to do) and just continue hooking, bump left, and it pushes forever. i own the purple hammer and blue hammer(rerelease) and they both do it!i also have yet to see those vibes roll down the lane even by the ebi sponsored guys

Blue Vibe boomerangs hard.  Blue Vibe is basically a Hammer Hyroad.

BTU Pearl doesn't shape like urethane in my opinion. Also, have tou tried polishing your Blue? Seems to be the way to go with that ball especially for drier lane conditions.

I just picked up a Hectic from buddies two weeks ago. At the time, there were 7 left at their supplier for 16 lb. Had to email them to find out.

I absolutely love my Hectic.  High RG/mild diff with a pearl cover.  I do think I may get the solid Hustle Ink at some point but even though the Hustle Ink is an HP1 ball and the Hectic is an HP2 ball.......I'm going to base my placement in the arsenal via on-lane performance as opposed to where it's slated in the product line.

I do think, generally speaking, that the product line is a good guide but there are exceptions.  I would defer to Luke on that though.....

Yeah, that's why I don't recommend urethane for the burn. Generally it's just not a good option. There are very specific conditions that you do want one for, but dry is not it. For most at least.
