Your question is vague but Storm makes all of RotoGrip balls now.

BBUUUTTT, the coverstocks and the cores are all Roto-Grip design's teams formulations! AS far as I know, no Storm coverstocks or cores were ever harmed or used in the making of a Roto-Grip ball.

Yes, I realize that charlest.  Would be cool to see a frankenstein Storm/Roto ball though

I could have sworn Roger told me over the phone or on this website that some storm coverstocks have been brought over to the Roto line.  IE these covers.... Ultra Sonic -- Pro Stock Pearl, Top Fuel -- X Factor Deuce, Oracle -- Fear Factor, Apocalypse -- XXX Factor

DP3,

only the base formulas.....those may be the same, but the coverstock when completed is uniquely a Roto "blend" as compared to Storm.....

I would love to see something based from the Vertigo cover.
Maybe Epic? Or newer solid reactive Oracle!

How many different kinds of cake can you bake with the same basic ingredients?  That is a good example of how many different coverstocks you can make with the same basic formula.

I too thought that surely SOME of the storm covers had been "roto-ized", but maybe not. Just a small tweak and you can call it something else.

A "small tweak" can make all the difference in the world.

{RANT MODE ON!}

I wonder why does everyone care so much which coverstock is which, besides being a discussion because you have nothing better to do. I bet I know. YOu're assuming, once you like a coverstock, you'll like that coverstock when it's wrapped around any other core. Ironic that bowlers make the same erroneous assumption about cores. They look for the same core or a core with similar specs to one they happen to like. Funny thing is they never realize how often they are wrong; they only remember the ones that happen to work.

Once a cover is mixed with a core, it becomes a unique ball. Once it is drilled and used by any one bowler, its reaction makes it even more unique. Use it on 2 different oil patterns and you have two different ball reactions.

"You buy a ball reaction; you NEVER, EVER buy a ball!"
You do not buy a core; you do not buy a coverstock!
You do buy a ball's reaction.

whoa whoa whoa...no way in hell is the cover on teh Apocalypse the XXX factor coverstock. Not even close. The apocoalypse is a solid pearl blended cover, while the cover on the XXX factor is purely a pearl resin. But i can imagine that the Ultra Sonic and the Pro Stock Pearl have the same cover

Good conversation...

I do like the example Charlest used.  EVERY bowler should be looking for a ball reaction.  When your buying a new ball it is because your current ball isn't doing something you need it to do on a condition/surface, etc...

BALL REACTION

No specific coverstock we use or Storm uses gets used on each others products.  We try to consider ourselves a separate company and this is the only way to do it.  Some are not that much different, but enough for me to be able to say this with confidence.

Thank you.
